This is a competitive basketball program is open to players who meet the CYOLI Eligibility Requirements and ready to take their basketball skills to the next level. This program aims to enhance players' understanding of basketball fundamentals while improving both individual and team skills. We focus on teaching proper techniques for shooting, dribbling, defense, and rebounding, all while helping players strengthen their specific skill sets. Commitment is key, and players will need to travel to Parishes in Nassau and Suffolk counties for games

Players in grades 4 through 8 are required to try out for the sport each season. Team selection is not guaranteed. To ensure a fair evaluation of each player’s skill, effort, attitude, and teamwork, players must attend at least one full tryout session and, if possible, all scheduled tryout dates.

Details: 

• Open to boys and girls in grades 4 through 8. Tryout dates TBA. 

• Games scheduled by CYOLI. Practices scheduled by the head coach as needed.
  

• Girls’ Season: September through January. 

• Boys’ Season: October through March. 

• Travel jerseys and shorts are provided by St. Rose CYO and are required for games. Additional apparel is available for purchase through the St. Rose CYO online store, which will open before the season starts. 

• The team's season win/loss record will determine their participation in the single-elimination playoffs and championship game.

• Players participating in the Travel Basketball (4-8) are also welcome to join the Intramural Basketball program. To participate in both, players must complete separate registrations for each program.
